For the culmination of my Ba(Hons) Painting and Printmaking degree, I made two suits of armour out of paper, and then engaged them in painterly combat with the aim of their destruction.

This idea began with an obsession with dueling, and the concept that we could replace the weapons with paintbrushes, and the shields with canvasses in order to create paintings.
The Battle of Collegelands was an expansion of my initial duels into a full scale battle, which took place in the Collegelands car park in Glasgow’s east end, in partnership with the Civic Room gallery.
